Ever since the creation of S.T.Dupont, its history has been linked with the Far East through its mastering of Chinese Lacquer on metal. S.T.Dupont is paying tribute to this ancient and rich civilization through this new exceptional limited edition. It is the expression of yesterday’s and tomorrow’s China as dreamed by a European.
The Shanghai features a mix of very sophisticated placed lacquer “rain” on the cap and an added filigree metallic part “waves” on the bottom of the products. A subtle pale gold effect ornaments the black lacquer. 8 citrine stones are set on the body of the lighter and on the clip of the pen; 8 being a lucky number in Chinese culture. The Citrine stone is a fine gem from the Quartz family that has a warm yellow color and is believed to have healing properties. The top of the pen is signed with a pale gold D circled with black lacquer, and the bottom of the pen is engraved with the Shanghai logo. The Shanghai is limited to only 888 pieces worldwide.
For the first time in S.T. Dupont’s limited edition history, a trio set is available. The trio set includes the fountain pen, a matching lacquered ink bottle, and a pen holder.
